Students detonate bubble wrap and join Guinness Book

Everyone loves to pop bubble wrap! So why not gather a crowd to have fun with this stuff and, in short, raise money for charity and set a world record for it?

According to the BBC, a group of 366 students - including the team mascot - from the Hawthorne High School of New Jersey, USA, set off 743 square meters of bubble wrap in just two minutes, joining the Guinness Book as the largest group of people bursting this material simultaneously. But, although super fun, the action took place for a much more noble reason.

The event was organized to raise funds for the families of the victims of the December shootout at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut, during which 20 students and six teachers were killed. However, despite the reason for the action, it is very likely that this record will become very popular, being "broken" by other teams around the world.
