Photographer makes 'newborn' record for 13-year-old boy she adopted

You may have seen several newborn photo shootings, the famous newborns. But this one undoubtedly has a surprising history.

Photographer Kelli and her new son Latrell

In 2011, American photographer Kelli Higgins already had a family considered large: even with five biological children and one more on the way, she made the important decision to adopt the brothers Latrell and Chanya. At the age of 10 and 5, respectively, the children were well past their adopted age, and Kelli felt he needed help.

In her work as a photographer, it was common for Kelli to keep records of babies, until one day Latrell confessed that he would like to have pictures of him as a child. The solution came from one of her younger sisters: a newborn rehearsal with the new family member.

Kelli and her husband liked the idea, and the next day everyone was in a studio. The family had a great time during the production of the images and the result of the project. The subtlety of the photographs shows a new birth in the life of the boy and family, who welcomed him with open arms. The success was such that Kelli has already received testimonials from people who were considering adopting a baby, but changed their minds when seeing the rehearsal with a bigger boy.
