You may have seen the above self-portrait by the celebrated Dutch painter Vincent Van Gogh over and over again. But what would this image look like if it had been produced through a photograph instead of brushes and paint?

According to Peta Pixel, Lithuanian photographer Tadao Cern thought it would be fun to recreate Van Gogh's self-portrait using his Photoshop and photography skills. The first step was to photograph a red-haired person, capturing as much detail as possible that was later incorporated into the portrait that you can see below through computer use.

According to Cern, to achieve the final hyperrealistic result, it took many touches - which involved stretching, cloning, lifting, drawing, and so on. - and his work can be compared to painting a real painting, because during the creation of the image he constantly returned to the original painting and the model photo to obtain the necessary references.
