Man is swallowed by escalator in Istanbul

If you've had the experience of being trapped in an elevator and hated going through it, thank heaven for never facing a situation like the guy you will see in the following video had to face! He was doing something that millions of people around the world do daily when something unexpected happened: he was swallowed by an escalator. Watch:

The video was shared by the staff of the El País news portal and, according to the vehicle, the incident was recorded at the end of February at the Ayazaga subway station in Istanbul, Turkey. The images were captured by security cameras present at the scene and, according to witnesses, there were signs at the scene indicating that the stairs were not working properly.

However, as you saw in the video, a lot of people ignored the warnings and took the escalator anyway - until the man named Mehmet Ali Erik was swallowed by it. Worse, the guy was stuck for about an hour until the firefighters arrived and pulled him out of the gut. Miraculously, the man suffered only minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
