Young girl loses job after racist publication during Carnival

Another case of racism has surfaced in recent hours, now with a different outcome, however. During Carnival, a trainee from Espirito Santo's Studio Vitória company took a racist selfie with some black people he didn't even know - in the image posted by him, the boy said he would be robbed by people who appeared in the city. This Wednesday, 14, one of the partners of the company where the young intern, Fabrício Affonso, decided to post a note about what happened on Facebook. The partner, who is also black, said he considered “the conduct of any employee of the company in this regard inadmissible. I know how stigma-laden my color is, and I know how many barriers I had to face to get where I got there. ”

In his statement, Affonso said he had a difficult childhood and struggled to open the company that is now five years old and is already opening a second unit. “I am very proud to give my employees the dignity that any intern deserves. A salary higher than the market ceiling, a career path within the company, and full support in training and courses, including paying for your enrollment, ”he said.

About the post that eventually resulted in the trainee's dismissal, Affonso said he believes it may have been done innocently, but that his company "cannot condone such irresponsible behavior, let alone account for it." In closing, he stated: "Neither immaturity, nor carnival nor drink is an excuse for racism."

The trainee in question used an Instagram account identified by @ lucasalmeid4, but the profile has been disabled. Check out the full note published by the company partner below:
