Wrong place and time: teenager has legs devoured when entering the sea

On Saturday (5), the life of 16-year-old teenager Sam Kanizay was wonderful: he played soccer with his friends and then went paddle surfing (also known by the English name stand up paddle ) on Dendy Street beach. in Melbourne, Australia. However, the ride almost ended in tragedy when he noticed that his legs were bleeding.

At first, Kanizay thought he might have stepped on a rock, but as the bleeding happened to various parts of his feet and ankle, he thought something more serious had happened. He was referred to a hospital, and doctors could not contain the bleeding or determine the cause of this strange incident.

Jarrod Kanizay, the boy's father, decided to return to the beach where the accident happened to investigate the matter on his own. He threw a net with a piece of meat into the sea and, as he gathered it, noticed that countless tiny beings were devouring the delicacy. He took his discovery to the hospital where his son was hospitalized and showed the little creatures to the doctors.

The teenager's legs went raw

It was then noted that the meat was being devoured by pets known as "sea lice", which are actually jellyfish larvae. Even so, this behavior is extremely unusual! Marine biologist Michael Brown explained that in 20 years of work he has never seen anything like it. Typically, this type of parasite feeds on fish, eating the mucus and meat of these animals.

Already the teenager was hospitalized for the entire weekend, taking antibiotics and doing biopsies - the fear was that any of these sea lice had entered his skin and was corroding the member inside. He is expected to be discharged on Monday (7), as the worst is over.

His father filmed the disgusting creatures eating the meat he had used to "catch" them. If your curiosity is too big, just play below:
