Marvel: Benedict Cumberbatch will be the Strange Doctor in theaters!

After months of looking for an actor to live Stephen Strange in theaters, Marvel Studios officially named Benedict Cumberbatch ( Sherlock ) as the ultimate wizard in the production to be directed by Scott Derrickson.

In recent months, rumors have already indicated that Cumberbatch was in talks with the studio to play the character. Stephen Strange is a neurosurgeon who, after a horrific car accident, discovers a hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

Benedict Cumberbatch has gained international prominence for the acclaimed adaptation of Sherlock, BBC series for which he won the Emmy Award this year for best actor in miniseries or TV movie of 2014, as well as leading BAFTA in 2013.
