When owls are hunting, they use their silent wings and the shadows of the night to hide their presence and to quickly approach the prey. Already during the day, they can hide in plain sight, but in a way that not even the best predators can identify them. Can you find the owls hidden in every photo?

It's amazing how they can use their feathers to camouflage themselves on the stage, but not only that: they can inflate and wither in various ways to better adapt to their surroundings and avoid detection.

The amazing owl-transformer

The white-faced owl species has an even more interesting technique. By default, its average size makes it an easy target for other birds of prey, so it is essential that they hide well. However, they have very large eyes that would make any animal identify them.

So when threatened by large predators, she stretches her silhouette - retracting feathers near her body - and closes her eyes, allowing only a small crack to see where the enemy is. This way, besides being very difficult to find, it can also camouflage itself in the trunk of a tree.

When the threat is the same size, the animal intelligently bets on a bluff: it lifts its wings and inflates, making it look much larger than it actually is. Thus, this new posture scares the predator and causes him to flee in search of a less frightening animal.
