The restaurant where you have a meal while watching the sea floor

Has it ever occurred to you to eat a meal while watching the sea floor? This is the idea of ​​the Norwegian architectural firm Snøhetta, which announced the construction of what may be Europe's first submerged restaurant.

The project, called “Under”, will be built in Lindesnes, the southernmost point of Norwegian territory, located approximately 400 kilometers from the country's capital, Oslo. Here are some pictures of the place, which should accommodate about 100 people when it is completed:

The rectangular structure made of concrete will be partially submerged while the upper part will be above sea level off the coast of Norway.

To reach the dining venue, guests must descend 5 meters below the surface

In addition to the unique experience of eating on the ocean floor, the site will help preserve aquatic species.

That's because, according to the office that signs the project, Under will also operate as a marine life research center.

The intention is that over time it will turn into an artificial reef of mussels, which are excellent water purifiers.

With works scheduled to begin in February 2018, the first restaurant of its kind in Europe is expected to be completed by mid-2019.
