The 10 Coolest Public Toilets of 2017

On November 19, World Toilet Day was celebrated. That's why the folks at DesignCurial decided to choose the 10 most different and curious looking bathrooms in the world. In addition to innovation, the interaction with the environment, aesthetics and relationship with the community were also considered.

1. Kumototo

Location : Wellington - New Zealand

Designed by the Studio Pacific architectural firm, Kumototo's bathroom is reminiscent of a dinosaur or a large slug. The idea of ​​making a different design is to turn the installation into a work of art and thus try to avoid the vandalism that public restrooms usually suffer.

Location : London - England

Five meters high, this public toilet has a perforated metal façade that creates a very curious effect in central London. And you can use it quietly, as the holes are not within sight of the walkers.

This bathroom was created to be temporarily installed in 2011, but became a Uster brand, so much so that others were inaugurated in the following years. It has a design created by Gramazio & Kohler that mimics the skin of reptiles. The cool thing is that it can change color depending on the angle you see it or the sunlight.

Location : Gdansk - Poland

The city was one of Euro 2012's headquarters and needed to design low cost manufacturing public restrooms. Built in the park on the banks of the Colorado River, the “A Trilha” bathroom also serves as an artistic installation. It consists of 49 vertical steel plates, of different sizes, which at the end of the route form the cabin with the toilet.

Location : Ichihara - Japan

Renowned Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto designed what is called the quietest, most peaceful bathroom in the world. It is housed in a glass-walled cubicle, and privacy comes from the 2-meter-high fence around the garden that prevents onlookers from seeing you in the most intimate way.
