Ranking reveals the most popular baby names of 2016

The BabyCenter website is the largest Brazilian platform named after babies born in the country. For 2016, 163, 000 names were registered, revealing the national trend in choosing the baptism of shoots. The men's top 3 remains identical to last year's, and the women's top three was ranked third.

The cool thing about this site is that it adds different spellings, but with similar sounds, like Eloísa and Heloísa, and also separates compound names, such as Luiz, Miguel and Luiz Miguel - in this case, they are three different names. This is the ninth time the compilation is done, showing how the Brazilian follows fashion trends.

Among the girls' names, the highlights were Valentina (4th place, rising 5 positions), Melissa (20th) and Cecilia (21st), both rising 10 places in the Top 100, in addition to the premieres of names like Maria Isis, Maria Helena. and Maria Flor. Among the boys, it is worth noting the increase of Heitor (4 places, being 5th) and Benjamin (29th to 13th place).
