Female Viagra expected to hit the market within three years

Fifteen years after the launch of the first blue pills, the pharmaceutical industry announces that it is conducting trials with a pill designed exclusively for women.

Called "Lybido", the novelty promises to increase sexual desire and make orgasms more frequent and intense. Its formula contains testosterone and other Viagra-like compounds that work in the brain and body to stimulate desire.

Because of worldwide Viagra sales - which amount to nearly $ 5 billion a year - scientists have been trying for years to create a drug that could have a similar effect on women. By then all attempts had failed because female libido is divided into physical as well as psychological factors.

The Dutch company responsible for the novelty believes it has solved the problem with a two in one pill that is smaller than an aspirin and should be taken 3 and a half hours before going to bed.

According to the British newspaper The Daily Mail, a test of more than 200 American women showed positive results. According to doctor Adriaan Tuiten, the pills made research volunteers have sex more often and were more likely to reach orgasm. The result of this test also pointed to headaches and redness in the face and neck as side effects of the drug.

The next step of the project is to develop an even larger test so that the drug can be placed on the market by the end of 2016.
