Grandma left for a 10-minute drive and ended up driving 482 km

At the age of 83, Valerie Johnson got her car to go to Popleton's Royal Hospital in Worcester, England. The hospital is only four miles from her home, but she got lost in a detour on the road and drove for eight hours, leaving her family members very worried.

Dona Valerie only stopped when she ran out of fuel, after traveling 482 km and arriving in Larkhall, Scotland. By this time, her daughter, Karen Maskell, was already calling the police, worried about her mother's disappearance. In the end, when she discovered the old woman's whereabouts, she eventually took a flight to pick her up.

The lost driver explained that she was unable to make a return when she noticed that she had missed the road and continued driving until she realized she had crossed the border into another country.

Long way

Fortunately, she received help from a couple who looked after her until their daughter arrived. Karen said she learned of her mother's disappearance thanks to a call from a neighbor and was quite worried that Valerie might have had an accident.

When police told Karen that her mother's car had been spotted in Preston at 11 pm, she couldn't believe it because she knows the old woman hates driving and doesn't usually drive long distances.

The couple who met Dona Valerie called the police after noticing that the car had been parked for a long time in front of their house, with a passenger who eventually said she was lost and out of fuel - an ambulance went to the scene to check if she didn't need to. of medical help and then the daughter was told. Dona Valerie stayed with the couple until Karen arrived.
