For the country with the most inhabitants in the world, a way of generating equally large amounts of energy is needed. That's why China created the Three Gorges Dam, which currently has the largest dam in the world.

Considered a world heritage site, these 2, 000-year-old rice paddies are scattered throughout the Ifugao province of the Philippines. The appearance of these buildings to the mountain range is unique: it seems that the mountains have been “sliced” into several pieces.

These constructions are believed to be handmade, with almost no equipment to aid the process. Their irrigation system is just as old, but works perfectly to this day, allowing natives to grow vegetables on the spot.

The diamond mines of Mirny, a small Siberia town, look more like a huge whirlwind that took place on land. At 1.25 km in diameter and 525 meters deep, this is one of the largest and most dangerous excavation areas in the world.

The danger of the mine is not in the size of the site, but in the material they need to get through in order to make the excavations: to pass through permafrost (ground of permanently frozen rocks), it is necessary to use many explosives, as they make them melt. it's almost impossible.

Ryugyong Hotel has a somewhat curious history. Its construction, which began in 1987, was abandoned five years later due to various project hurdles and financial problems that plagued North Korea.

For 16 years, the huge skyscraper remained incomplete, being considered by the people of Pyongyang City, where the building was erected, a "ghost hotel". That is until, in 2008, construction of the Ryugyong was resumed.

Today, the building is nearing completion, easily standing out against the backdrop of the city due to its 330 meter height and unusual looking structure.

One thing many people do not know about this mega-construction is that it is not a single structure, but actually a series of walls spread across China, even through neighboring countries such as Mongolia and North Korea.

What started as a common oil rig has grown rapidly. Today, the building is literally a "floating city" that looks most like another world, with a population of 5, 000 living 50 kilometers offshore.

Being in the middle of the Azerbaijani Sea, Neft Daslari has everything an ordinary person needs to live, such as houses, schools, bakeries and cinemas, which can be found in the 300 km of streets of the structure.

The structure crosses the Tarn River valley in France, suspended by cables at a height of 343 meters at the top of its pillars. But be warned that if you are afraid of heights, this may not be the best route for your trip.
