5 bizarre cases where teachers killed students

5. Shooting at school

High School students from Masthokoze, South Africa were disgusted to find that a group outing had cost less than the school had charged. When the institution did not return the value, they decided to destroy the principal's car.

Fearing for safety, the teachers locked themselves in a library where they were also targets of revolt. That was when the principal and a teacher decided to open fire, killing one student and injuring two others. Those responsible for the shooting were arrested but were released after bailing $ 160.

4. Stabbed student and called parents

Yu Hagino, a high school teacher in Japan, called the father of one of his students to inform him that she was dead. The victim was Sixth grader Sayano Horimoto, who died after being stabbed in the neck and face. The police, Yu Hagino confessed that he did not get along with the girl, lost his temper and ended up committing the crime.

On December 2, 2005, Hagino had bought two kitchen knives and a hammer, which, to police officers, suggested that the murder was premeditated. On the fateful day, 13 students were at the scene, but he asked Sayano to go to a separate room, where he was supposed to take a Japanese questionnaire with the girl.

Hagino locked the door and stabbed the student. Hearing the screams, several people tried to open the door in vain. At one point, the teacher came out holding the phone with his bloody hands.

The school reported that Hagino was not scheduled to work that day and that the girl's parents had already asked him not to teach Sayano any more.

3. Kidnapping and death

Liu Hong Wen, 28, was invited to work at a school in central Hunan province, China. After a year on the scene, on September 30, 2004, he entered the classroom with a butcher knife and killed four children.

Then he went to another room and took 64 people hostage, including teachers and students. While police were negotiating the victims' freedom, Liu attacked four more teachers and surrendered. In total, four children died, and nine students and three teachers were injured. Liu was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was sent to a mental hospital.

2. The first mass murder in a school

March in honor of dead students

You certainly know of some student attack on schools, but did you know that the first major attack was the work of a teacher? On June 20, 1913, 29-year-old teacher Heinz Schmidt broke into the Marienschule school in Germany and shot everyone who crossed his path.

Professor Maria Pohl had just led two rows of students across the courtyard when Heinz came in and killed three girls. Hearing the confusion, a caretaker threw himself on top of the teacher, managing to delay the action. Even so, five people died and 21 were injured.

1. Professor serial killer

In 1986, police from Cape Town, South Africa, had a big case in their hands: 22 bodies of young people under 15 were found buried in shallow graves. All the children had been sodomized and strangled.

The profile of the officers was that of a 28-year-old man who could work as a teacher, police officer or priest and who had probably been a victim of sexual abuse as a young man.

Norman Simons, teacher and serial killer

The last victim found was 9-year-old Elroy van Rooyen. He was last seen at the train station in Mitchells Plain. Some witnesses reported that police were able to reach 27-year-old Norman Simons, who was a teacher in that neighborhood.

Norman confessed the death of his former student Elroy and was sentenced to 35 years in prison.
