The young woman who recovered from anorexia after hearing that she was 2 days old

Cazandra Zetterberg, a young Swedish girl of only 19 years old, received an unimportant diagnosis: basically, she was two days old. The reason? A severe anorexia that left her weighing only 35 kg - due to the low weight, Cazandra's body temperature reached a frightening 34 ° C.

Upon hearing from the medical staff that her body would succumb in a matter of days, Cazandra's younger sister Izabelle fell into despair. It was at this time of extreme pain and suffering that the young woman decided to fight for her life and to eat again.

The year was 2013, and shortly after returning to food, Cazandra celebrated the gain of over 20 kg, enough to be discharged and return to a normal life. Today, after two years of recovery, she prepares to work as a nutritionist and personal trainer.

Back over

In a statement published in the Daily Mail, Cazandra said that what made a difference was realizing that her illness affected others, not just herself. Until then, she refused to eat, even with her parents' most desperate pleas - at times they tried to force her, but it was no use.

When she was hospitalized, she continued to refuse to receive food and any kind of treatment - after a week of eating absolutely nothing, her mother forcibly took her to the hospital, but she still did not want to accept help.

Today, fully recovered and much better, Cazandra still doesn't know why she felt such a need to lose weight. One of her guesses is that anorexia developed because of her low self-esteem: "I felt better about myself when I lost a little weight, " she said.

Hard times

From then on, the obsession got worse and worse, and Cazandra counted every calorie she ate, always wanting to lose more and more weight. For two years, her life was devoted to concerns about diet, weight and calorie count - until she heard it from the mouth of a doctor who was only two days old.

Immersed in her irrational and uncontrollable preoccupation with her own weight, Cazandra cut herself off from friends, family, and even school, as she simply couldn't pay attention in class. "I woke up every day and didn't want to get up because I knew I would have to eat, " he said.

In addition to not getting up so she wouldn't have to eat, Cazandra was also in her bed because she had no energy left and was shivering - not to mention the daily quarrels she had with her parents over food: “It was as if a demon took care of the my body and I had no control over myself. ”

Resistance and strength

When she was taken to hospital after a week without eating anything, Cazandra was force-fed through a tube and had to be hospitalized for three months before being discharged.

After realizing that her illness was harming her entire family, Cazandra said she forced herself to eat and to stop hearing her "inner voice", which asked her to do just the opposite.

All she felt was an overwhelming desire to win this war between what she needed to do and what her anorexic urge recommended her to do.

Incentive to be well

“And I kept thinking about my little sister and my family. I knew I didn't want them to see me die. I feel so much better than I ever dreamed, ”she said, recovering. About her food, Cazandra says that today she eats everything, whenever she wants, and now she finally feels that she has recovered her life.

The young woman's new routine includes more time with family and friends, workouts, nutrition classes, and personal trainer training. Obviously, she still has her bad times, but she knows that when they arrive, it's important to work hard to get them away soon.

“I want to work on my goals, and my goal is to help others. No matter what they have been through or what their goals are, I believe I can help them because of what I have lived, ”he said.
