Everest adventurer says he is not afraid of dying

As if it was no longer a challenge to climb Mount Everest and descend alive, an adventurer has decided to return from the summit of the world's highest mountain by flying. According to CNN, Joby Ogwyn has plans to jump wearing a wingsuit - a winged jumpsuit for high-performance flights - with several cameras docked in May and share the adventure on TV.

The news channel chatted with Ogwyn during the break from a practice session, and the adventurer said that while the challenge made him very scared, he was not afraid to die. As explained, this is his dream and he is willing to risk everything to make it come true.

Ogwyn is an American and is 39 years old; he was only 24 when he first reached the summit of Everest, becoming at the time the youngest person in his country to meet this challenge. The adventurer climbed the mountain from base camp in just 9 1/2 hours, and three years ago jumped from a test plane.

In May, when he jumps from the top of the mountain to the base camp, covering more than 3, 000 meters, Ogwyn expects to reach speeds in excess of 240 kilometers per hour. Discovery Channel - which broadcast Nik Wallenda's tightrope crossing over the Grand Canyon and Felix Baumgartner's jump from the stratosphere - has warned that he would like to televise the adventure.

In May last year, Russian athlete Valery Rozov conquered the highest historic jump mark on Earth - Baumgartner jumped from the stratosphere! - coming down from Everest via Base Jumping in a Red Bull sponsored adventure. In Ogwyn's case, the parachute should only be triggered at the time of landing, and the exact date of the jump has not yet been confirmed.
