Dangerous hailstorm surprises bathers on Russia's beach [video]

During summer, hailstorms are quite common, especially on the hotter days. This was what happened in a Russian seaside town last weekend, but beachgoers on a nearby beach did not expect the rain to be so intense or the ice rocks that fell from the sky to be so large.

According to the Telegraph, bathers on Russia's Novosibirsk Beach were surprised when the sunny day was closing in, and was quickly overwhelmed by a sudden hailstorm that had stones the size of golf balls.

As the threatening clouds moved over the area, the temperature plummeted from 41 ° to 22 °, with the sky triggering an ice bombardment. As you can see in the video below, recorded by a bather, at first people thought it was just normal rain and did not realize what would come next.

The problem was that the storm progressively worsened with the increasingly strong hail, which caused panic in many people. People can be seen screaming and running to hide in shelters and umbrellas, while some have chosen to stay in the water so as not to be hit by the large rocks.

Apparently on the beach where the video was recorded no one was very injured despite the size of the rocks and the lack of shelter. However, local media reported that the storm caused the death of two three-year-old twins elsewhere in the region when a tree fell on the tent they were in. Next to them was another four-year-old in the ICU.
