São Paulo company launches project to teach seniors how to develop games

ISGame, the São Paulo school of game development, created a project aimed at people over 50 years old. The idea is to help prevent diseases that cause cognitive decline, such as Alzheimer's, by teaching this group how to make their own games.

According to research by the University of California, programming is an exercise that greatly interferes with logic and cognitive fluidity, which makes it possible to help prevent disease. The school has published the project in Benfeitoria (crowdfunding site) and intends to serve the elderly of the São Joaquim Association - a community center that houses more than 300 people - in greater São Paulo.

In addition to stimulating memory, logical reasoning and cognitive process, the initiative aims to develop teamwork with the elderly in face-to-face classes, boosting their sociability and protagonism in the creative process. You can learn more about the project and help here.
