This German commercial for Christmas 2015 can make you cry

What's the worst news you could get at the holiday season? Probably that your father or mother just died, isn't it? While this is a reality in many families, what happens in the German EDEKA supermarket commercial will shock you. Watch the video above and understand what we are talking about ...

As Christmas is a time traditionally to spend with family, the company decided to show those who abandon their origins to live far away from where they were born. Family reunions in these cases are practically impossible - and not even the time to celebrate family union is enough to bring the children together.

Most think a simple phone call is enough to ease the loneliness of older people - which, of course, is not. “How else could I meet you all at once, huh?” Asks the old man in the German commercial. The video also ends with an appeal: "It's time to go home." By the way the whole world liked it: published three days ago, the commercial has been seen more than 10 million times!

It's time to come home!

Christmas solitude

And by the way, loneliness is really the main theme of this year's Christmas commercials. We have already shown here in Mega the video of the British department network John Lewis that shows the isolation of an old man on the moon that ends up forming a curious friendship with a little girl on Earth.

We also show what happens to the isolation of a night watchman at a mannequin company in the gorgeous Christmas special Spanish lottery commercial. Justin the watchman works alone at night, but he does his best to make his regular shift mates have more pleasant days all year round.
