This crazy gorilla in a pool will brighten your day

Think of a happy animal! But very, very happy indeed! This is Zola, the gorilla you'll be happy to watch in the following video - in which he appears freaking out while playing in a simple pool. Take a look:

Did you like it? So, see Zola dance again - this time to the sound of Maniac from the 1983 movie “Flash Dance”:

Pure joy, isn't it? But after all, what is happening in the video above? Is the gorilla really happy in life or doing some kind of weird behavior? And what, after all, is he doing in that pool?

Moment of relax

According to Noel Kirkpatrick of the Mother Nature Network website, Zola lives at the Dallas Zoo and was caught enjoying horrors during what local experts call the "enrichment period." This period, according to Noel, is a time when zoo personnel focus on physical and mental stimulation to encourage animals to demonstrate natural behavior.

For Zola was in the middle of her session when, to the delight of the caregivers, she began playing with the water and happily whirling about pool life. So answering the questions we asked earlier is not any strange behavior - let alone negative. The gorilla is simply relaxing and making the most of its "enrichment period".
