US Rides New Nuclear Supercarrier Like a Giant LEGO

You may have seen here some details about a magnificent aircraft carrier being built by the US marina, Gerald R. Ford. It is a gigantic Nimitz-class nuclear warship that, just from the prow, is over 18 meters high.

Interestingly, the “mounting” of this aircraft carrier takes place piece by piece, with several parts and sections being constructed and incorporated into the main structure as they are completed. The last addition was the command tower, which you can see in the image above. In addition to weighing 555 metric tons, the tower is 18 meters long by 9 wide, and is the 452nd piece of the 500 total required to complete the Gerald R. Ford construction.
