According to NewScientist, artificial intelligence can help scientists and doctors better understand the effects of psychedelic drugs. University of Chicago professor Matthew Baggott and his colleagues used algorithms to examine reports written by a thousand people who had their senses and emotions altered.

With the results obtained, the researchers found that with the frequency of certain words cited in the texts it was possible to identify the drug ingested with an average of 51% accuracy. The compound known as ecstasy had the highest assertiveness index: 87%. Baggott hopes the research will help investigate how drugs work in the human brain.
