Magic mushroom microdoses can make you more creative, you know that?

Who doesn't want to get more creative and break their cognitive skills? For according to a new study involving magic mushroom microdosing, the one used to make mushroom tea, the truth is that this psychedelic substance may eventually contribute to creative thinking, improving mood, and even enhancing cognitive functions.

To further study these positive effects of microdosing of the drug, researchers at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands conducted some tests and published the results in the journal Psychopharmacology.

According to the research, the micro doses of the substance psilocybin, found in hallucinogenic mushrooms, affected the brain functioning of 36 people who participated in the study. These people received a single 0.37g dose of the drug and were then asked to unravel three puzzles.

Although microdose studies involve daily intake for cumulative effects, the researchers stated that this particular study was designed to see subtle and not very profound changes in participants.

It turned out that people were traveling a lot more and that this effect made them think of more creative solutions to the problems they were supposed to solve, proving what the authors of the research call "fluid intelligence changes". .

"Our results suggest that consuming a microdose of mushrooms allowed participants to come up with more innovative and alternative solutions to a problem, thus providing preliminary support for the assumption that microdosing improves divergent thinking, " said lead researcher Luisa Prochzkova.

"In addition, we have also seen an improvement in convergent thinking, that is, an increase in performance on a task that requires convergence into a single correct or better solution."

Jeez!

These studies with psychedelic substances are new and more testing and research is needed to complement the findings. Anyway, it's nice to understand that the medicinal use of some drugs can bring benefits - the mushroom itself has been tested at other times as a possible drug to relieve the symptoms of depression and other types of mental illness, you know?

Incidentally, according to Prochzkova, the idea is to study the therapeutic effects of the mushroom also in areas that go beyond creativity and cognition. She explains, for example, that the substance is useful for people who treat strict behavioral patterns, such as individuals who have obsessive-compulsive disorder. Cool, right?
