US may have machines that sell cannabis products

According to BloombergBusinessweek, MedBox is seeking federal clearance to install machines that sell cannabis-based products in the US. The line ranges from cookies to cereal bars, as well as drinks and bottles containing the drug, and will be directed to people with prescriptions for the purchase and consumption of these products.

But don't think you just have to have a prescription and the money to buy the products available on the machines: the devices will be on display in licensed locations and can only be accessed by accredited vendors. In addition, if the installation of the machines is legalized, they will be shielded and will function through biometric patient readings.

Products will be subject to applicable taxes and regulations, as well as any other merchandise, and all operations will be recorded in a database for control. This system will ensure that no patient buys more than recommended or that products are sold to those who do not have permission to consume.
