Pyramids in China? Yes they do - and now their mystery has been revealed

Everyone knows that besides Egypt, other countries are home to pyramids, such as Sudan, Mexico and Guatemala, for example. But had you heard that in China there were also a lot of these structures? Well, dear reader, there are about 40 of them, and no, they were not built by alien beings - but by emperors of the Han Dynasty, which stretched from 206 BC to 220 AD.

Oriental pyramids

The Chinese pyramids are not as majestic as the Egyptian or the Mayan, but nonetheless fascinating - after all, the spectacular terracotta army, also known as the "Xian Warriors", was found under one of these structures, guarding the tomb. from Emperor Qin.

But in addition to guarding emperors and treasures, these pyramids also held some mysteries! Scientists already knew that China's buildings, like those of Egypt, were erected to align with the cardinal points, that is, north, south, east and west. See one of them below:

However, while some of the pyramids were almost perfectly ordered with respect to the North Pole, others had a slight deviation, and no one had been able to understand the reason for this anomaly - until now.

New theory

For a long time, it was suspected that the Chinese builders had simply made a miscalculation. However, the strange thing is that the “misaligned” pyramids have a similar deviation of almost 14 degrees, and that was quite remarkable - a fact that caught the attention of Italian astronomer Giulio Magli, who seems to have discovered why structures present this discrepancy.

According to the researcher, while the Chinese architects built some of the pyramids aligned with the North Pole, those with deviations are not "crooked", but were raised to point to the Polar Star - whose position today coincides with the axis. of projection of our planet and is the nearest star to the North Pole.

The astronomer based his conclusion on a movement of our planet known as "axial precession" - which occurs because the earth performs its rotation motion in a slanted manner, which in turn causes every 25 Seven thousand years or so, our world completes a turn around the axis of its ecliptic, as if it were a pawn.

So, according to Magli, 2, 000 years ago, the North Pole and the Polar Star were not aligned in the same way as they are today - which is why some of the Chinese pyramids appear to be out of place and it has long been thought that its builders had made a mistake in designing their positioning.
