See Israeli anti-aircraft system intercepting 15 missiles

The Iron Dome - or Iron Dome - is an Israeli anti-aircraft system designed to destroy short-range missiles and artillery bombs, intercepting threats launched against populated areas.

It was developed by the defense company Rafael and manages to shoot down threats fired from 70 meters to 4 kilometers. You can see in the first video a simulation of how things work in practice.>

In the following video, you can see the Iron Dome actually working and knocking no less than 15 missiles into the air. The pictures show that by far everything is very similar to a fireworks show - except for the part where if one falls into a building, hundreds of people can die.

The noise is deafening and knowing that something so dangerous is happening right above your head could panic a lot of people. However, this is already considered to be the most effective missile shield in the world, which alleviates concerns.

90% success

The Iron Summit began operating in 2011 in Israel. Just a month after its implementation, it intercepted its first missile, launched from the Gaza Strip. A year later, it was reported by one of Jerusalem's leading newspapers that the defense scheme had prevented the impact of 90% of Gaza's launched missiles.
