7 unusual diseases that have already appeared here at Mega Curioso

We here at Mega Curioso have already talked about a lot of very unusual syndromes and disorders and today we decided to put together some of the strangest things on this short list for you to check. 1 - Progeria

Also known as Hutchinson-Gilford Syndrome, progeria is a rare genetic disorder characterized by aging 10 times faster than normal. It affects one in 8 million children worldwide and it is very difficult for patients to reach adolescence.

2 - Cotard Syndrome

People affected by this curious - and rare - mental disorder are convinced that they are dying or even have died. In addition, it is common for those affected to believe that their internal organs are rotting or rotting.

3 - Hypertrichosis

6 - Porphyria

Imagine a guy suffering from extreme sensitivity to sunlight, skin sensitivity, insomnia, physiological need for a particular protein present in red blood cells, and bizarre, often violent behavior. Was he a vampire? In fact, the subject is likely to suffer from some porphyria, a group of genetic disorders that affect heme synthesis, the pigment that gives the blood red color.

7 - Blue skin

There are actually two conditions that can cause a human to have blue skin - like a Smurf! One is methemoglobinemia, a genetic disease that causes carrier hemoglobin to not be able to properly release oxygen in the body. The other is argiria, which is caused by exposure to silver.
