On television, on the internet, in the newspaper or on the bar table: there is no escape. The Zika virus took over the mainstream media, became a subject for debate on social networks and became a major concern for all Brazilians. No wonder - the Ministry of Health itself has said it is impossible to know how many people have already been infected with the disease, but estimates that the number of victims has rotated between 500, 000 and 1.5 million since last year.

In addition, the number of cases of microcephaly associated with the epidemic is increasing. The whole world is concerned with developing a solution to curb the Zika outbreak, but little is heard about its origin and the possible reasons why it has so contaminated so many people. If you have been following the news, you may already know the most basic information: the virus was first found in 1947 in the Zika forest of Uganda. What nobody has said so far is who found this microorganism and what they did with it from then on.

Some disagree with the official version of this story. For some, the truth is only one: the "owner" of the virus is the Rockefeller family of bankers, famous for starring in a series of conspiracy theories. The US company ATCC, which was founded in 1925 to be a global provider of biological materials and microorganisms in general, sells Zika samples in its online store for just $ 430 or $ 500. $ 616 for anyone using it for business purposes.

Interestingly, in order to acquire the virus, the buyer must have a CNPJ, which the ATCC still calls the CGC (General Taxpayer Register, nomenclature already abandoned by the Ministry of Finance). While trying to simulate purchasing a sample, the site stated that there was currently no inventory available for shipment, recommending that we contact the sales team via email or telephone.

Links with Oxitec and modified mosquitoes

And this is not the only relationship that the Rockefeller family has with the Zika virus epidemic here in Brazil. Do you recall that in March 2015 In Summary reported that the British company Oxitec had been granted permission to release genetically modified Aedes aegypti mosquitoes to stop the dengue epidemic? Months later, more specifically in August, Oxitec was acquired by Intrexon Corporation.

Coincidentally, the insects treated in the laboratory (which should theoretically eliminate harmful Aedes ) were released in the Bahian municipalities of Juazeiro and Jacobina, the same places where the first cases of Zika virus were recorded in Brazil. And if we go to NASDAQ's official website to check out who is behind Intrexon, we will find that the English company is funded by banks and investment funds such as Vanguard Group, Morgan Stanley and BlackRock.

All of these corporations are suspected of being run by Rockefeller and other influential families in the United States (such as Rothschild), although there is no clear evidence of this relationship. Thus, it is impossible to say with certainty that the Rockefellers do have any influence on Intrexon (and hence Oxitec), but they are indeed hard to ignore.

But who are the Rockefellers anyway?

Considered one of the most powerful families in the United States, Rockfeller owns hundreds of companies and is active in the political, financial and oil sectors. All this fortune and influence originated between the 19th and 20th centuries, when the brothers John Davison Rockefeller and William Rockefeller founded Standard Oil, a company that specializes in oil production, transportation and refining.

The Rockefellers' Total Fortune Has Never Been Spread

Throughout history, this surname has been associated with endless real estate construction projects, including the iconic World Trade Center (as well as several other commercial complexes and corporate buildings that have become US postcards). The family also funded a number of educational institutes (such as Harvard, Stanford, Yale, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology) and even founded their own university in 1901.

The Rockefellers' total fortune has never been disclosed. To this day, the Rockefeller Foundation - John D.'s largest philanthropic organization and legacy - participates in issues of global importance. In 1940, she funded the creation of the yellow fever vaccine, developed on the former campus of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz). The family had already entered into a partnership with the Brazilian government in 1923 to cooperate in the public health sector.

On the other hand, many conspiracy theories (especially those related to the so-called "cancer industry") put the Rockefellers as protagonists. They are said to control much of the pharmaceutical industry, earning billions by selling drugs for epidemic diseases that were “made” to reduce the world's population. Of course, it is also impossible to prove anything to that effect.

Profiting from death

This is not the first time that speculation has arisen about the origin of an epidemic. The same thing happened with the H1N1 virus (known here as “swine flu”), which theoretically caused the American Donald Rumsfeld (former Secretary of Defense under George W. Bush) to profit millions from the US patent. Tamiflu, the only medicine that has a satisfactory efficacy against the symptoms of the microorganism.

We can only know this: when the cure for Zika is discovered, who is behind its manufacture? The Rockefeller? Again, while it is impossible to make concrete family connections to the virus epidemic, it is at least curious that it has so much to do with the virus that already worries the World Health Organization (WHO).
