PornHub searches for 'Area 51' increased after event calling for invasion

It seems that people were more excited about invading Area 51 than we thought. Since the “Storm Area 51” Facebook event, which brings together more than a million people interested in finding alleged aliens at the US base, has gone viral, the number of searches for the theme on Pornhub, a porn site, increased a lot.

According to data from the platform itself, since July 12, when the event gained notoriety, searches for “Area 51” increased from zero to 160, 000 in just 4 days. The zero baseline, however, does not mean that before that no one was looking for the term: last year it was possible to find 30, 000 searches on the subject in one day.

Women (33%) and 18-24 year olds (67%) seem to be most interested in “alien pornography”. Popular topics include "alien fertilization" and "alien sex", but people are also curious about "alien belly" (a reference to the original 1979 Alien movie scene), "alien abduction" and "monsters vs alien" .

Contrary to what you might imagine, Americans are not the most excited about the idea. These search terms on Pornhub grew even higher in countries like Argentina (65%), Brazil (57%) and New Zealand (42%).

It seems that people are really looking forward to September when the alleged encounter with aliens in Area 51 is scheduled.
