10-year-old boy meets mummy in the attic of his grandmother's house

Granny's House is, for the most part, a magical environment, full of mysteries in the eyes of a curious child, who finds in each ancient object a new story. Now imagine you poking around at your grandmother's things and suddenly finding a mummy. It seems impossible? Well, it is not.

Alexander Kettler, a 10-year-old boy in the German city of Diepholz, was braving the attic of his grandmother's house when he suddenly found a wooden box that, opened, revealed a mummy wrapped in a sort of sarcophagus with hieroglyphic writings., typical of ancient peoples such as the Egyptians and the Maya.

It is not yet possible to say whether the relic found by the boy is original. Alexander's father Lutz Wolfgang Kettler said he did not know of the mummy's existence and intends to take it to Berlin so that it can be further analyzed by subject matter experts.

Kettler believes the mummy is real, since, according to him, the boy's grandfather used to travel around Africa in the 1950s, and at that time mummies trading was relatively common. He states that the mummy has been stored in the attic for about 40 years and that despite all this time the material does not smell bad.
