Boy sleeps for 11 days straight and nobody knows why

On October 1st, 7-year-old Wyatt Shaw stole attention during her aunt's wedding: he danced with his bride, played a lot and was very pampered. He came home tired, and his mother, Amy Thompson, figured he was going to have a sleep like that! But she didn't expect Wyatt to wake up 11 days later!

At first Amy even thought it was just tiredness, but she worried when Wyatt couldn't stay awake and seemed disoriented in those rare moments. Concerned, the woman took her son to the hospital. The doctors did not understand what might be happening and referred the boy to a better prepared hospital in Louisville - the family is from Elizabethtown, both in Kentucky.

A day earlier: all normal

At first it was suspected that Wyatt had some virus or bacteria, as before complaining of Morpheus's journey he complained of stomach and headaches. But all the exams seemed to point to perfect health! The only thing noticed was an electrical failure in the brain, so they started treating him with seizure drugs, even though he never had any other signs related to it.

Then, out of nowhere, he woke up after 11 days sleeping. At first Wyatt had motor problems and could not speak. Now, fortunately, this is already a turned page, and it recovers well and at home. Doctors can't pinpoint the real causes of prolonged sleep, but to Amy, nothing else matters - she's relieved that her son is well.
