Pepsi again launches strawberry flavored soda in Japan

In Japan, as everyone knows, it is common for chocolates, ice cream, sandwiches and many other delicatessen flavors to come out, and soft drinks made from crazy ingredients are not out of the list. And, according to Jun Hongo of The Wall Street Journal, a Pepsi creation that was successful in 2011 is returning to Japanese shelves this year.

According to the publication, it is Pepsi Pink, a strawberry-flavored carbonated drink that is to be marketed for a limited time, scheduled to hit markets on December 9. The soda will be sold only in Japan and, according to the manufacturer's spokesman, both the color of the product and its packaging match the mood of the holiday season.

By the way, as we showed earlier here at Mega Curioso, this is not the only unusual soda flavor Pepsi has ever launched in Japan. Apparently, the company tends to invent new varieties every year, and previous options have included azuki bean, cucumber flavored beverages, watermelon and salt, baobab, shiso and Mont Blanc, the latter inspired by a traditional French dessert made from chestnuts.
