Hidden cam is spotted in an apartment rented by Airbnb in Sao Paulo

If you travel a lot and prefer more affordable options for the night, as well as having the freedom to make your own food and relax at home, Airbnb has always been a good option. But a couple from Sao Bernardo do Campo who decided to spend their last Sao Paulo holiday on January 25 on Sao Vicente beach in Sao Paulo did not have a very quiet experience: they discovered a hidden camera that filmed the room of the rented place.

Immediately upon realizing what was happening, the guests sought a police station and recorded the incident.

Arriving at their apartment, rented through the Airbnb app, the couple noticed a flashing light behind a mirror in their bedroom. The two clients decided to investigate and discovered the installation of a hidden camera behind the mirror that could record everything that happened in the room.

“Airbnb has logged more than 260 million guest arrivals worldwide and incidents like this are extremely rare. Airbnb takes privacy very seriously and there is no room in our community for such behavior. The rules for using the platform are clear when prohibiting cameras in bedrooms or bathrooms. If they are in other places of the house, this information should be disclosed in the advertisement.
