Castles are amazing buildings for those who like history, architecture, tourism or simply for those who have always wanted to feel in a movie setting. If you have ever visited a castle, you know that these buildings are even more beautiful when viewed at close range. Here's a list of some of the most fabulous castles in the world:

1 - Rocca Calascio Sunrise

If you are in Italy, this medieval building in the Province of L'Aquila in Abruzzo is worth a visit.

2 - Panemune Castle

In Lithuania you can see this amazing 17th century building. The tourist office was reopened in 2013 after some restorations.

3 - Castle Querini

Greece itself is already beautiful, but if you are there and can see the island of Astipaleia, it is worth visiting this beautiful castle.

4 - Palace of Winds

Another country full of wonders is India. One of them, of course, is the Palace of Winds in Jaipur.

5 - Anapji

Gyeongju National Park in South Korea features a castle built during the Silla Dynasty in 674 BC.

6 - Schwerin Palace

The grand building was erected in the tenth century and is now the seat of the German parliament. One of the most famous stories about Schwerin tells us that the palace has a ghost that haunts him to this day.

7 - Narin Castle

This building was used as a fort in the city of Meybod, Iran. Today the site is considered dangerous and used by local residents as a garbage dump.

8 - Castel Sant'Angelo

Italy is truly a country full of beautiful buildings and, if you are in Rome, it is worth visiting the Sant'Angelo Castle, which is now a museum.

9 - Neuschwanstein Castle

Is it or isn't it a movie set? This little beauty, built in the nineteenth century, served as inspiration for many of the castles of Disney movies.

10 - Kilchurn Castle

Located in Argyll and Bute, Scotland, this once-fortified castle is often submerged. When that doesn't happen, though, the view is all that dazzle.

11 - Jahangir Mahal

Another complex Indian building famous among locals and tourists.

12 - I'Islette Castle

France is also a good country to visit when it comes to castles. Located in the Loire Valley, Chateau de I'Islette is in a central French region and once housed famous artists such as Camille Claudel and Auguste Rodin.

13 - Loarre Castle

This Spanish castle is in the midst of many mountains and cliffs. The building dates from the 11th and 12th centuries.
