Photographer recorded ordinary people in everyday activities with and without clothes

The work of photographer Sofia Vogel is reverberating around the world. The reason? In addition to the quality of the photos he produces, one of his last essays addressed a theme that is still seen as taboo by many people. Yes, we are talking about nudity.

In the photos, Vogel sought to portray ordinary people rather than photographic models. The records of these people were made in two versions: the first, with clothes, doing a common activity of their daily lives; in the second, without clothes, doing the same task.

The photos, placed side by side, can convey the message that Vogel would like to give: “I love to present nudity in an aesthetic way without any sexual imprint. Not every nude photograph should be linked to sexuality, ”she said of her work, in a statement published in So Bad So Good. See the result:

1 - Hello

2 - Music

3 - I think I saw a kitten

4 - Bartender

5 - Vinyl

6 - Maps

7 - Daily life

All the people photographed offered to participate in the rehearsal. They are teachers, dentists, lawyers, of different age groups. With the photos, Vogel wants to convey the idea that we should not be uncomfortable with nudity.

“Clothes hide and can be used to mask insecurities, but in my opinion people should defend themselves and resist the ideals of the body of society. Nudity makes it easier to compare people, without their surface surfaces, people look more genuine, ”concluded the photographer. Do you agree with her?
