Tattoo artist makes free tattoos in NY, but designs are a surprise [gallery]

About a week ago, world-famous American tattoo artist Scott Campbell held a gallery event in New York City that brought together at least very brave people. The project, called Whole Glory, basically consisted of a wooden fence with a hole through which some lucky ones would insert an arm and get a completely free tattoo.

So far so good, if not for a small detail: the individual could not choose what would be engraved on his skin permanently. Even though this idea is inconceivable to some people, there was no shortage of volunteers for the four-day event. It took daily sweepstakes on the spot to determine who would get a tattoo on the strip.

Many of the lucky ones told the artist that he could create whatever he wanted since they completely trusted him. Obviously, there were still people who were afraid when it came to winning a completely random art on their body, as you can see in some of the photos in the gallery above. However, all participants said they were pleased with their new tattoos at the end of their sessions.

Campbell told The New York Times that blind tattooing has a “hand-reading” aspect to it, since he doesn't really know the person or his likes, but is touching and reacting subliminally to tattooing. . Probably for this reason each design was unique.
